Timeframe: November 2009 – January 2012
Reference: Steve Luyckx, General Manager

Mark Virag was retained by ODE to develop a business plan for their newly-acquired “provider exchange” software.  This comprehensive plan included a competitive analysis and a functional exposition of the software, as well as a proposed organization structure, salary survey, marketing strategy, financial models, and sensitivity analysis.

ODE management was sufficiently impressed with the plan that they kept Mr. Virag on to implement it.  Over the next two years, he hired and trained the staff, developed marketing around the “Network” concept and the “PEN Certified” concept, solicited new entrants to the network, and specified technology enhancements.

  • Expanded delivery channels from one to five.
  • Expanded the “provider network” from ten to twenty-seven.
  • Developed an API approach for channel integration.
  • Organized “PEN Certified” relationships with two provider platforms.
  • Patented the exchange technology.

In addition to managing the unit, Mr. Virag participated directly in a number of marketing initiatives, representing ODE at conferences, in panel discussions, and in the press.  He was responsible for a number of key provider relationships.  Mr. Virag also worked as liaison with the Business Development and Technology operations of all channel partners.

“I worked as a peer to Mark in his role as V.P. for AutoNation Financial Services. Mark was a key member of senior management and played an instrumental role in the start-up of this organization. Based upon my work experience with Mark, I would highly recommend him.”
